The G-Dub

I am a really hard person to shop for. Somewhere, Financial Guy is reading this and shouting "Can I get an 'Amen'?" The biggest reason why I'm so hard to shop for, is because I'm so tight with my money! I have a really hard time paying retail prices for anything-- and I mean anything! To combat that, I usually shop end-of-the-season sales and my favorite store (harps playing, angels singing)... Goodwill or G-Dub, as my BFFs & I lovingly refer to it. :)

Shopping at Goodwill is like an Easter egg hunt and to be really honest, either you like it or you don't. There are zillions of times that I'll go in and not find anything I think I can't really live without. However, then there are other times when I hit jackpot, like I did today.

Today, I loaded up the kids and we set off on a morning errand excursion. We dropped off some things at Goodwill and, like a moth to a flame, I just had to go inside to see what kinds of hidden treasures were waiting for me. The long & short of it is, I managed to walk out of the store with 2 dresses (one of which is a semi-formal just begging for an event, but for $8, I couldn't leave it there!), 2 tops, a pair of sandals, a baseball hat for one of the twins to wear to a Cardinals game, & a baby doll carrier for the Sisternator, all for the low, low price of $25. I'm not joking.

Yes, these are truly my tootsies in my new-to-me sandals I snagged for a mere $1.99. They're Nine West, too y'all. Holla! :) How much money can be saved by shopping there? Well, these aren't the exact same, but they're close & they're on e-Bay right now for $47, so you tell me...

Regardless of whether you call it by it's formal name, G-Dub, or (as some of my work friends call it) the G-W Boutique, there's a ton of moolah to be saved in there! It might just be worth your while to stop by your Goodwill every now & then & see what kind of hidden treasure YOU can find! Have a great week, happy Independence day, & save on, friends! :)
