If your answer is an emphatic YES, then this may be your chance! Southwest Airlines announced yesterday that they are running a 72 hour sale in honor of their 40th anniversary. There are loads of good deals. Sale prices and mileage are posted in the picture. Flights from Nashville to Orlando to see The Mouse (remember we talked about that last time?) are a mere $80. With the cost of gas, it's almost as cheap to fly! As I told my friend Kim (who gave me the heads up on the sale) yesterday, "it's almost like you can't afford to NOT take a trip with deals like this!" By the way, even if you already have flights booked on SWA, if the price has lowered since you booked, they will give each person flying a credit toward your next flight, but it's not automatic, so be sure to call them or redeem the credit online. Good to know!
On another flight note, and this one isn't so rewarding, flight fares are expected to go up as much as 10% by Thursday (June 23, 2011), for Independence Day travelers. Be wary and purchase NOW if you anticipate flying over the holiday!
Nothing to do with flying, but still interesting... I suspected this, but never had any solid info to back up my hunch. My local morning news ran a story this morning I wanted to pass on. According to lifehacker.com and mygrocerydeals.com, Wednesdays are the best days to get the best deals at the grocery, as it's the day many stores will offer the best discounts (not to mention it's the slowest day to shop... well, unless you're at Kroger on "blue-hair day", but that's entirely different). Thanks, Steve, Amanda, & Lelan for sharing! And Lelan, go here to get those coupons that you "clip, but don't take to the store" organized and use those things-- or else save them for me, brother! :)
It's Wednesday and based on what I just told you, there's money to be saved, so get out there and get after it! Save on, friends! :)
