Throwdown Thursday

So what's the big deal about stocking up, printing coupons, and getting rain checks? Here's the big deal:

A few weeks ago, I went to Rite Aid and got rain checks for sale items I had coupons for, because they had run out. I'll bet I checked back 3 different times and they were still out of the Stayfree pads. Tuesday, I dropped in there and not only did they have them, but it just so happens, they are giving $2 UPRewards this week (coupon at the register toward your next purchase)! So here's my haul:
  • 4 packages of Stayfree pads [which will be donated to our church AND I earned $4 in UPRewards :)]
  • 4 tubes of Nivea lip balm (on sale for $1 each this week, but Monday, there was a $2 off 2 coupon on Facebook for a brief time for "liking" them)
  • 1 bag of Halls cough drops (free + overage, because I used a Rite Aid $0.50 coupon + a $0.55 coupon
  • 2 GE energy Saver light bulbs (Free-- got rain check when they were $0.99 and had 2 $1.00 off coupons)
  • 2 Mentos tubs of gum
  • 2 bottles John Freida hair smoothing serum (to tame my frizzy mop!)
My total cost out of pocket was $2.72 (woot woot!), because I used UPRewards I had previously earned.
But enough about me. Let's talk about ways you can save!

Kroger has started a "Deal of the Day". Click here, as they are giving away an item of the day, every day. Some of this week's items (which I haven't won, for the record...) have been Tide detergent and Green Giant Steamers. Log in for your chance to win-- and get some eCoupons loaded to your card while you're over there!

One of my favorite stores, Publix, is having a stock up event. You can register for their coupon booklet here.
Thanks, Kim! :)

There's money to be saved, so get after it! Happy Thursday, everybody!
