Kind of like 'The Cupid Shuffle', it's The Rite Aid Skinny

I hear people say things all the time like, “I don’t use coupons because I’m afraid I’ll buy something I won’t use.” If I asked you to give me $3.50 and told you if you did, I would not only give it back to you, but I’d give you more on top of it, would you do it? If you say no, please don’t be upset when I yell in your general direction. ARRRGH! There, I feel better. :)

This scenario is exactly what it means if you see me or anyone else promote something that says it’s “free + overage”.  Many times, when you get something for “free”, tax still has to be paid on the item, which makes it cost just pennies, but not completely "free". That said, if it’s “free + overage”, (insert crazy, happy smile here) that means they pay you to take it home!

Rite Aid is one of only a handful of stores that when they are having a BOGO sale and you have a BOGO coupon, all you pay is tax! I know, crazy, right?! A week or so ago, they had their Stayfree pads on sale buy one, get one free. I had 2 BOGO coupons, but only got to use 1 because they had run out (imagine other people trying to get the same deals as me—the nerve!). Uncertain, I asked if they give rain checks and honor the sale price, they do (!!) and you can take advantage of it, when they get more of the product in stock. Woot woot! If your store runs out of a sale item, always ask if they issue rain checks for the sale price.

Are you taking advantage of Rite Aid’s Winter Rewards program? The deal is, if you spend $100 (before coupons, naturally) on specified products by February 26, they’ll reward you with $20 back toward future purchases. This week, there are a few items that, after coupons, are free + overage AND they count toward the $100 total. Woohoo! Here are some examples, just make sure you sign up for a Rite Aid card to be scanned every time you checkout!

1) Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste- Advertised for $3.50. You get $3.50 back in rewards toward your next purchase. On 2/6, there was a $1.50 coupon in the paper. If you use it, they’ll pay you $1.50 to take it home. If you don’t need it or won’t use it, donate it!

2) Dove Deodorant- Advertised for $1.99. Buy 2 & get $2 in rewards, use $2 off coupon from the 1/30 coupon insert= FREE + overage. Sweet! Again, if you don’t need it, give it away.

So don’t go discarding your Rite Aid ads before you scour them for deals! There are plenty out there for the gettin’, you just have to keep your eyes open. So how, you ask, (in a post-Valentine's glow) is The Rite Aid Skinny similar to 'The Cupid Shuffle', it's possible you'll save and/or earn so much money, it might just leave you dancin' in the aisles. :)

  1. I promise I didn't go to your Rite Aid and got all those StayFree. Now if you came all the way over here, well then I'm sorry. ;-)

Hey I learned something about getting a rain check. My friend told me to ALWAYS get a rain check for anything that is sold out, because if you don't have a coupon now, most likely before the rain check expires you will have a rain check. (That being said who has time to look at absolutely everything on sale.)
