I'll be the first to tell you that I'm not smart. Intellectually speaking, I feel I can hold my own as my brain is teeming with random, useless knowledge that one never needs, but for whatever reason has-- like the speed in m.p.h. of a sneeze coming out of your nose... useless, yet interesting. :) In terms of phones, I'm not smart at all. Meaning, I am probably one of about 3 people left in America that has yet to submit to a Smartphone-- I know, I know. How can I survive it... The shame... The deal is, I'm waiting for media costs on those phones to come down, then I'll succumb to the pressure and stop saying, "the only cool thing my phone does is flip open". :)
This morning, I heard something interesting: Did you know you can make money with your Smartphone? Now that's what I call smart! Money Talks News reported several ways to make money with your phone by downloading apps. Here they are:
1) Gigwalk- Download the free app here, have a Paypal account and an iPhone, then start earning money (about $5 per session) for taking pics with your phone and submitting info for them.
2) Checkpoint- Download the app, earn rewards & redeem points toward gift certificates, airline miles, etc when you scan barcodes. Works with iPhones and Androids. Go here for more information and how-to's.
3) Field Agent- Download the app here, have a Paypal account, and earn ~$11 to be a secret shopper and take pics, complete surveys, or info about your purchases. Currently works on iPhones, Android app coming soon.
Per chance, by the time I'm finally Smart (phone-wise), they won't have done away with these apps completely. However, by then, I feel certain phones will communicate via hologram, which brings to mind images from Star Wars Movies and I will, yet again, not be Smart. However, I feel pretty smart about saving the high costs of phone media, right now-- so there! :)
Have a great Independence Day weekend! Save on, friends! :)
